GERTRUDE GLASSHOUSE | LA DRONNE

On behalf of our friends and presenting partner Gertrude Contemporary, Stonehouse / Glasshouse and Res Artis are delighted to promote the public opening of La Dronne by Andre Piguet and Jackson Slattery.

Opening | Thursday 31 January, 6-8 pm
Exhibition Dates | 31 January - 2 March 2019

This exhibition is the outcome of the Stonehouse / Glasshouse Residency programme, a member of the Res Artis international network. The residency is an invitational studio residency program supported by Res Artis benefactors Michael Schwarz and David Clouston, together with Antje and Andrew Géczy. The residency provides the opportunity for Australian and New Zealand artists to live and work for a concentrated period in Chenaud, South-West France; offering the experience of working within a European context for developing new work to be exhibited in Australia.

André Piguet and Jackson Slattery were selected for the second iteration of this residency and spent six weeks living and working in Chenaud from June to July 2018. This exhibition presents a selection of works made by the artist during this time or emanating from the experience. La Dronne draws upon the experience of the rural region where the residency is located.
